Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of AccentPoof (“the app”), provided by the AccentPoof team (“we”). By using the app you agree to them. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these Terms conflict with it, the Apple agreement prevails on iOS to the extent required.

1. Who can use AccentPoof

You must be at least 18 years old. The app is a personal, non-commercial tool for practicing English pronunciation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use it.

2. What the app does and does not promise

AccentPoof helps you practice the English sounds that stand out most for speakers of your first language, with feedback from automated speech scoring. Results depend on your practice, and scores are estimates made by software that can be wrong. We do not promise that you will lose your accent or sound like a native speaker. The app is a learning tool. It is not speech therapy and does not diagnose or treat any speech, hearing or language condition. If you have such a condition, talk to a qualified professional.

3. Your voice and the voice twin

• Only record your own voice. Do not record other people or use someone else’s recordings.
• The voice twin is optional. It is created only after you agree in the app and confirm you are 18 or older, and it is used only to play your practice back to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
• Voice twin clips and Mo’s voice are AI generated. They are a guide to the target sound, not a recording of a real native speaker, and they may contain mistakes.
• Do not use the voice twin or its clips to impersonate anyone, to deceive people, or outside the app.

4. Accounts

When you first open the app it creates an anonymous account so it can score your recordings. Saving an account (Apple, Google or an email code) lets you keep your progress and sync devices. Keep your sign-in method secure. One sign-in works across our other apps. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me > Account > Delete account) or by following Delete your account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

• The 60 second check, your sound map and your first sound are free. The full program needs an AccentPoof Pro subscription. There are two auto-renewing plans: weekly (billed every week) and annual (billed every year).
• The price and period are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency. At launch they are: United States $6.99 per week or $59.99 per year. Canada C$9.99 per week or C$79.99 per year. Brazil R$ 14,90 per week or R$ 149,90 per year. Mexico MX$79 per week or MX$699 per year. Other countries see the local price set by the store. We may also show a discounted annual offer. The price shown by the store at purchase is the one that applies.
• The annual plan includes a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your account is charged the annual price when the trial ends. The app can remind you before the trial ends with a notification. The weekly plan has no free trial and is billed the day you subscribe.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancel in the store, not by deleting the app or by email: only Apple or Google can stop the billing.
• Manage or cancel: on iPhone, Settings > your name > Subscriptions. On Android, Google Play > your profile > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions.
• We may change prices for new subscribers. If the price of your own subscription changes, the store will tell you in advance and you can cancel before it applies.
• Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us. Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play: your order history, then “Report a problem”. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected, for example the 7-day right of withdrawal for purchases made in Brazil (Consumer Defense Code, art. 49), which you exercise through the store.
• Restore purchases: on the plans screen tap Restore, or use Me > Account > Restore purchases.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app: no unlawful content, no recordings of other people, no attempts to access other people’s data, no reverse engineering except where the law allows, no automated access or scraping, and no attempts to get around usage limits.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of your recordings and of what you type. You give us the license needed to store and process them to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your recordings to train AI models.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or the rights you have as a consumer in your country.

9. Termination

We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will tell you about material changes in the app. Continued use after the change means you accept it.

11. Law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where the AccentPoof team is established, without limiting the mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence. Contact: support@accentpoof.com.
